Wooden Cosplay Props

an era.

Last updated: September 2, 2024

Welcome to the original “Aimee Wood Works”, my old cosplay prop woodshop, where I specialized in life-size wooden replicas of video game and anime weapons; but mostly I just made hundreds keyblades; a true keyblade master, if you will.

My last name is Wood, and the Wood family has a long history of woodworking and practical commissions to make our livings. My own woodwork is a far cry from the carpentry and furniture making of the past, but it was wonderful to teach myself the craft and continue the tradition.

Below are a few of my past woodworking projects. From 2014 to 2020, I earned my main livelihood (alongside a few other jobs; birthday princess, waste water lab manager, 3rd/4th grade teacher) by making life-size wooden props for cosplayers and collectors.

As of Summer 2020, I no longer have a woodshop space and have ceased my professional woodworking. While I hope to run a workshop again someday, I do not believe I will make the same things— 500 keyblades alone takes a toll on a person.

My career as a Keyblade Mastercrafter is over, but when I have a workshop again, I would enjoy crafting a small annual run of kingdom key keyblades (if you are interested, contact me, and I will add you to the waiting list). ♥︎

While my woodshop was open, I took this Work quite seriously. Over 750 of my life-size wooden props exist in the world! They littered my living room and balcony for years; and permanently stained many surfaces with spray paint.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to each and every one of my customers. I am very protective of your continued happiness- if you purchased a prop from me in the past and need any help at all, with maintenance, repairs, or anything else, send me a message on Etsy. I hope you are doing well! ♥︎

And without further ado, what you've been waiting for: many baby Aimee photos, full of pride, holding a few of my crafts before sending them off to customers.
