September is Coming!

Update for The 2nd Unofficial Legend of Zelda Cookbook

Dear Adventurers,

[tw; brief mention of my miscarriage]

I write to you amidst the thunder and rain of a much needed Denver summer rainstorm; weeks of high 90's have finally collapsed into what comparatively feels like a cool 78!

With cooler weather, I emerge, brain computing once more! This csf-leak-patched rebound tension headache and fatigue, is still really something-- but cookbook progress has been made in the last few weeks!

While I am not near the pace and productivity I would like to be at, August was still better than july, which was better than june, which was laughably better than may (let alone february or march-- and we will not speak of the agonizing months before that).

My trajectory is good; but I'm quite disabled, sometimes quite miserable, and, honestly, still traumatized by the life-threatening loss of my pregnancy in may. I'm also struggling with the US medical and insurance system, so I really appreciate the patience ya'll are affording me while I finish my work on this, turn it in, and get it printed. A lot of balls are up in the air right now, and I'm trying to make it work!

My goal now, with everything being so delayed already, is to have this printed and in your hands by the end of this year, by the holidays.

And now for what you really desire... tiny sleepy koroks! 6 little watercolor koroks are adoptible; because they were the only ones NOT adopted at Denver Fan Expo, poor things. Adoption papers included; thank you for your support during this tumultuous time! (can any of you guess what sword that is in the background?)

And while you do-- the 1st cookbooks (already at the lowest price they've been at; I'm trying to free up storage space in prep for the 2nd cookbook), are at an additional 10% off. If this sounds desperate-- it is. :D If you've been meaning to post a review or a picture of your book or your zelda shrine on a social media and tag my shop in it; now is the time! (thank you)

It's all I can do right now to stay afloat, feed myself, take care of my cats, and work on our cookbook as much as I can. When the screens or standing in the kitchen is too much, I've gotten back into painting (...and anime. Frieren, Apothecary Diaries); I'll be posting some more original and fan art to my website and shop soon.

I am also pleased to announce I have divested from square space; my new website(you're here right now!) is with Ghost and Magic Pages! While it is still under construction, it does have a certain functionality that a few of you have asked about. If you were interested, there is a way to do that now, nominally and monthly. You have my utmost and astonished gratitude, if that interests you, and my love always, regardless.

If you are already on my email list, you'll get a newsletter when my new website officially 'launches', and you can use that to go over your email preferences (like, do you want little notes, art, or poems from me, or do you just want the big once-in-a-while launch email?).

If you are not on my email list.... then how did you find out about this kickstarter, what?? You're relying on an algorithm???

Also-- yes, I'm adding more recipes, even though I'm not quite done with the ones I have promised, but the heart(stomach?) wants what it wants and I will not apologize.

You will LOVE Chef Bear’s Pineapple Pizza, Link's Awakening is such a good game go play it. Pair it with my new Ice Fruit Lemonade, and maybe some Spiced Skewers (tell me you don't want curry on a stick. you do.)

Wishing you all the best, and a good return to the school season if that affects you in some way!

for Hyrule, always ♥︎
Aimee

ps-- September 1st through 5th; I am going on a family trip!! So I will be on a short break; I've not had even a weekend off in a long time. My mom and brother and I are going to Universal in Florida, something we never got to do together when we were young, and I am greatly looking forward to spending some time with the two of them; it's hard to find time in busy adult schedules, and I am so grateful to be taken on this vacation when I really, really need it. (for those suddenly concerned, I have a disability pass and universal will take care of me) Thank you so much mom ♥︎ :')

And by late September, I should have some additional life news for all of you, which will affect fulfillment a little bit, but it should all be settled and good by then. 🤞

also, happy birthday and hang in there! we're going to make it through all of this; one baby step at a time. this has become my "year of small improvements," just one foot in front of the other, reducing friction, making life just a tiny bit easier. deep breathing at bedtime, walking meditation when I wake up, endless physical therapy (and mental! lol). I am so thankful to be walking again, able to think again. it all could be so much worse, and we can make it so much better. thank you for being here. thank you for caring about a silly fan cookbook. I appreciate you. I'm here for you too. ♥︎

(ALSO. TYLER. Am I allowed to post O's mind-blowing, fantastic, made-me-cry crafts?? I keep forgetting to ask, I think of this daily.)
