The Rains Will Come, Then Pass: Watercolor Poem

a sunny disposition shrouds
the foggiest forecast
still I cannot control the clouds
the rains will come, then pass

Painted and composed after months of tragedy, strings of little heartbreaks, health scares, and chronic pain. Yet still, through highs and through lows, in those spaces for breath between the wracking sobs, light peaks through the clouds. The sun will come again.

It is available as a giclée print in my shop.

I am a particular fan of Pamela Colman Smith; known for her Tarot deck, and lesser known for her many incredibly evocative drawings. This is lightly inspired by her drawing and poem "The cobweb cloak of time has dropped between the world and me, the rainbow ships of memory have drifted out to sea." It is a gorgeous soulful drawing and I do love iambic.

an inspiration, by Pamela Colman Smith.
